Our Process

Telemedicine offers important advantages for trans, non-binary, and gender nonconforming individuals who may not have access to safe, knowledgeable providers near their homes. TransClinique is committed to breaking down barriers and creating a space that prioritizes safety, privacy, and accessibility. Our model is built around convenience, discretion, and medically sound care, allowing you to receive affirming treatment without unnecessary obstacles.

When possible, our healthcare providers identify as trans, non-binary, or queer themselves, helping create more comfortable and understanding conversations around deeply personal healthcare needs.

Next Steps

We make getting started simple, fast, and convenient. Our process is designed to remove barriers while ensuring safe, evidence-based care every step of the way.

Select the plan that fits your needs and complete our WPATH-compliant intake form with your medical history and required information. Once submitted, you’ll finalize your membership and payment so we can begin your care.

Our physician will review your intake and place your lab orders. If a virtual visit is needed, you’ll receive a secure video link with appointment times that work for your schedule. Once your lab results are available, your provider will carefully evaluate your hormone levels and overall health to ensure treatment is safe and appropriate.

After your medical review is complete and you’re ready to move forward, your prescription will be written and sent to your preferred pharmacy or delivered to your home. Your provider will guide you through next steps and remain available for continued support.

In addition to providing the highest quality hormone replacement therapy (HRT), we believe in a customized, holistic approach to helping you successfully navigate your journey. All of our providers are understanding of the unique needs of the population and will work with you to reach your individual goals.

About Estrogen Replacement

For trans femme and non-binary individuals seeking a more feminized body, estrogen is typically prescribed along with testosterone blockers. In some cases, progesterone may also be added to support breast development and overall well-being. These medications can be taken in several forms, including oral tablets, patches, or injections. Your treatment plan will be tailored to your goals, health history, and clinical needs.

Early changes often include softer skin and reduced body hair growth within the first few months. Over time, you may notice decreased muscle mass and redistribution of body fat, typically beginning around 3–6 months. Breast development generally starts within the first 6–9 months and can continue evolving over several years. Full effects vary from person to person, with most changes reaching their maximum impact within 2–5 years.

About Testosterone Replacement

Testosterone is the primary medication used in gender-affirming hormone therapy for trans masculine and non-binary individuals seeking masculinization. At TransClinique, testosterone can be prescribed as a topical gel or by injection. Your provider will work with you to determine the dose and delivery method that best aligns with your goals, health history, and lifestyle. Gel is applied daily, while injections are typically administered weekly or every other week.

Early changes often include increased oil production in the skin and gradual body hair growth within the first 3–6 months. Over time, you may notice voice deepening and facial hair development, which commonly begin around 6–9 months. Increased muscle mass, changes in fat distribution, libido changes, and clitoral enlargement typically develop within the first year. As with all hormone therapy, timelines and results vary from person to person.

Non-Binary Care

Hormone therapy for non-binary individuals is guided by your personal goals and the changes you want to see. Care is not one-size-fits-all. Treatment plans are thoughtfully tailored to align with your desired balance of secondary sex characteristics.

Options may include lower-dose hormone therapy, short-term use, or micro-dosing. Individuals on the feminine spectrum may choose to use an androgen blocker alone, low-dose estrogen, or estrogen for a limited period of time. Selective estrogen receptor modulators (SERMs) may also be considered for those seeking more subtle changes. Individuals on the masculine spectrum may opt for a lower dose of testosterone.

Every plan is developed collaboratively with your provider to ensure your care reflects your identity, goals, and overall health.
